Student: Is supporting documentation required to engage with the DRC?

9886 views

Supporting documentation provides useful context for the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) to recommend and arrange adjustments and supports for you. You are encouraged to provide supporting documentation prior to, or at your initial appointment with a Disability Liaison Officer (DLO).

In some instances, a person’s disability is obvious, and supporting documentation may not be required. However, there may be underlying issues that are not as obvious. An initial discussion with your DLO will indicate whether supporting documentation will be required.

There may be services that can be implemented or recommended without documentation in certain circumstances. This may depend on the degree of disability, whether it is permanent or temporary and the nature of adjustment needed.
