The DeakinTALENT Jobs and Internships board supports students and graduates to secure work opportunities.
The vacancies listed on this board have been sourced from multiple job boards and include a variety of roles ranging from internships, volunteer opportunities, vacation programs and graduate positions.
Key things to note:
- Find a role while you are studying - These are stepping stones to graduate roles. They don’t require a degree but are in a professional setting and give you a foot-in-the-door to:
- an occupation cluster of interest
- an Industry or employer of interest, or
- build skills/experience for a future role.
- Don’t get hung up on Job Titles – read the job description carefully, focusing on the nature of the work, the skills and experience required and the employer and industry behind the role.
- Some roles are open to all Study Areas – professional roles require a degree but may not specify a particular study area. These roles are a great way to get into the professional workforce – you don’t need to start where you want to end up!
- Don’t wait for Application Deadlines – employers will close a job as soon as suitable candidates are found.
- Please ensure you meet the relevant work rights requirement prior to applying.
- Work while you study - Start with a casual or part-time customer-facing role, and leverage the skills and experience gained to progress through to a Graduate role by the time you finish studying.
If you are working while you’re continuing study, it could be a good idea to start with a casual or part-time customer-facing role, for example in retail or hospitality, and leverage the skills and experience gained to progress to a pre-professional role by your final year.
